This uniquely positioned site on the south coast boasts views over the sea and protected open space. The existing property lacks connection to the views and outside space, the tired interior needs updating and the hap-hazard first floor layout needs particular attention. We have been able to create a contemporary home and strong connections to the surrounding vistas via wrap around terracing and a second-floor observatory. The green sedum roof draws the landscape up to second floor level. Family accommodation comprises of four spacious bedrooms, a master suite, family kitchen, home office and snug. The external form generated is a response to the context and the need for the building to turn the corner. The introduction of the coloured soffits are a playful element which imitate the colour of the sea. A planning application has been submitted and works are due to start on site in summer 2021.
